Street Artist Eoin O'Connor ( Art-By-Eoin ) was featured this month on local Hawaiian news station KITV and Louisianna news station WLKY for his recent street art murals that he painted on the North Shore of Oahu. This secret project recieved quite a bit of negative attention locally and nationally due to the locations he chose to paint but the bad was ultimately overshadowed by the good in this project with amazing artistic reviews based upon the style and content of Eoins work. Big Island Artist Danielle Zirkelbach is the featured artist for the new Alison's Adventures documentary titled "The Lost Island of the Firewalkers." Danielle created several new paintings that help tell the story of Alison's adventure as she heads off to Fiji to check out the Volcom Fiji pro and make an attempt to surf one of the biggest swells to ever hit Cloud Break. Kelly Slater calls Alison into a huge wave, but she gets swept inside and hurts herself on the reef. She thus decides to head off to a tiny island to rest and heal but little does she know it’s the magical island of the fire walkers.

In this story Alison finds herself in an adventure with the island’s Chief, deep into the intense Fijian past; to a time of tribal wars, cannibals, and spiritual consequences for breaking traditions. As her virtue is gauged by a series of tests placed upon her by the villagers, along the way Alison learns the importance of family, living off the land, and stumbles upon the secret to happiness.

Titled "Bernie and Ges" only the minds of Andrew Gesler, Alex DePhilipo and Drew Toonz could concieve the combination of a talking dog that surfs through a zombie attack. This short film was completely produced in less than three months and has recently been accepted into the New York Surf Film Festival.

As featured in Flux Magazine and on their website, the Whole Foods and Organik Clothing Artee event was a huge success.  Helping to promote the 3rd annual “Shop Local” event at the Kahala Mall this event was also a fundraiser to benefit the Art To Go program at the Honolulu Museum of Art.

9th Wave Gallery Artists Kyoko Rust, Patrick Parker and Shannon O'Connell were in attendance as they helped the event sell over 150 Oganik Clothing teeshirts that were hand painted with custom art. Organik is a beach lifestyle brand dedicated to protect the environment with original designs printed on eco-friendly, sustainable and recycled clothing made from organic cotton, bamboo and materials made from recycled plastic bottles. Their signature designs capture vintage nautical, beach, Hawaiiana and wearable statements along with colors inspired by the beach and nature.

Artist Ryan McVay made the cover of the MauiTime Weekly by creating a illustrative painting for their lede story.  Painted in one sitting this fictional portrait took about 4 hours to complete and portrays Terryl Vencl, the Executive Director of the Maui Visitors Bureau, in a Hawaiian beach scene that overlooks the town of Lahaina and the West Maui Mountains.
